This study aimed to determine the strengths and weaknesses of ninth grade students in basic skills of Raven's Progressive Matrices test and compare the performance of girls and boys by using of cognitive diagnostic assessment models with retrofit analysis. The study population included all ninth-grade students in Tehran's public school in 2016-2017. Among Tehran's nineteen Education's areas 700 male and female students were selected with random cluster sampling. First, with the help of intelligence experts, a matrix Q including the relationship between 8 basic skills and 60 items of Raven's test was formed and with using non-compensatory DINA model (CDM package in R software) was analyzed. Then, to determine the possibility of mastering, the subjects in each skill with determine the cut-off point 0/7 for mastery, using expected posterior within the DINA model framework, those who surveyed in each skills were divided into the dominant and non-dominant groups. Study results showed that the most probability of dominate was stability and progress. And totally, the participants in all skills except the skills of the mastery of skills (mental) thinking and quantitative were good.
