[English]

Objective: With the widespread use of digital technologies and social media, cyberbullying has emerged as a serious concern among adolescents, posing significant threats to their mental health. Accordingly, the present study aimed to predict cyberbullying based on moral development, interpersonal sensitivity, and coping styles.
Methods: The research employed a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population included all high school students in Badreh County, Ilam Province, during the 2024–2025 academic year, from which 250 students were selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected using the Cyberbullying Scale (Antoniadou et al., 2016), the Moral Development Questionnaire (Manavipour, 2012), the Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure (Boyce & Parker, 1989), and the Coping Styles Questionnaire (Billings & Moos, 1984). The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and path analysis through SPSS-24 and AMOS-24 software.
Results: The findings indicated that the proposed model demonstrated a good overall fit (CFI = 0.99, RMSEA = 0.047, NFI = 0.98). Moral development (β = – 0.15, p < 0.02) and interpersonal sensitivity (β = 0.85, p < 0.04) were not directly associated with cyberbullying; however, the mediating role of coping strategies was confirmed. Accordingly, both moral development and interpersonal sensitivity predicted cyberbullying indirectly through coping strategies.
Conclusions: The relationship between moral development and interpersonal sensitivity with cyberbullying is mediated by coping styles; therefore, effective educational interventions targeting cyberbullying should simultaneously focus on enhancing adolescents’ coping skills and fostering their moral and social capacities.
